We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
Develop and optimize data models, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Integrate data from various structured and unstructured sources.
Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Implement and enforce data quality, data governance, and security standards.
Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize workflows.
Deploy solutions using CI/CD practices and maintain documentation.
Support cloud data infrastructure and ensure adherence to best practices.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer in a commercial environment (3–5+ years).
Strong proficiency in:
Python or Scala
SQL (advanced-level skills)
ETL/ELT frameworks (dbt, Airflow, Glue, etc.)
Experience with cloud platforms, ideally:
AWS (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda)
Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse)
GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
Hands-on experience with data warehouse and data lake architecture.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), and DevOps workflows.
Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Databricks).
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub).
Knowledge of machine learning pipelines or MLOps.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
